Colin K. Benner – Vice Chairman and Chief Executive Officer
Colin Benner, Vice Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, is a professional mining engineer with over 40 years of experience in mining engineering and management in the Canadian and International mining industry. Currently he is also Chairman of PBS Coals, Inc. a private coal mining company in Pennsylvania. As well, he serves as a director on a number of Boards of other mining companies.
Most recently Mr. Benner held the position of CEO and Vice Chairman of Lundin Mining Corp. Previously he held positions of President and CEO of Breakwater Resources Ltd. and CEO and Vice Chairman of EuroZinc Mining Corp.
David S. Bryson – Chief Financial Officer
David Bryson, Chief Financial Officer, is responsible for the financial management of Skye Resources, including project financing and capital structure activities of the organization, risk management, accounting, tax planning and financial controls. He has an extensive background in corporate treasury and development. Prior to joining Skye, David had a lengthy career at Terasen Inc. from 1989 to 2006 where he was responsible for the investor relations and treasury activities of the Terasen group of companies. He holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Finance) from the University of British Columbia and is a Chartered Financial Analyst.
John Bracale, Country Manager, Guatemala and President of Compañía Guatemalteca de Níquel, S.A. (CGN)
John Bracale, Guatemala Country Manager and CGN President, has over 30 years experience in the mining industry in Latin America and the Pacific Rim. John plays a key role in working with the Government of Guatemala and the communities in the region of the Fenix project. He was most recently a Director and VP of Latin America for Gold Hawk Resources as well as Executive President of their Peruvian subsidiary Compañía Minera San Juan. He has also served as VP of Latin America for Breakwater Resources; Sr. VP of Latin American Operations for Arimetco International; VP of American Pacific Mining Company in Honduras; Executive Manager of Human Resources, Administration and Logistics for and during the building of OK Tedi Mining in Papua New Guinea and Administrative Manager for Southern Peru Copper Corporation.
Cindy Burnett – Vice President Investor Relations
Cindy Burnett, Vice President Investor Relations, is responsible for Skye’s communication with the investment community. Cindy was most recently Vice President of Investor Relations at Ivanhoe Energy. Prior to that, she spent over 25 years with NOVA Chemicals and The Alberta Gas Trunk Line Company in both Canada and the U.S., in a number of roles including investor relations. She has extensive experience in resources, manufacturing and commodities in investor relations, public company requirements, securities and finance activities, media relations and public affairs.
Kevin Clayton – Vice President Controller
Kevin Clayton, Vice President Controller, is responsible for Skye’s accounting, internal and external financial reporting, internal controls and budgeting. Kevin has more than 20 years of experience in the field of public company reporting, primarily in the natural resources sector, most recently serving as Corporate Controller of Canfor Corporation. Kevin holds a BA (Hons) degree in Accounting and Finance from Nottingham Trent University (UK) and is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of England and Wales.
Hugh S. Duncan – Project Director, Fenix
Hugh Duncan, as Project Director for the Fenix ferro-nickel project in Guatemala, brings broad, senior level experience in all phases of project management. His diverse background in the mining industry includes recent experience in Guatemala and strong leadership skills in the development and implementation of major mining projects and ferro-nickel projects. Hugh’s key responsibility will be to lead and manage Skye’s owner’s team during the engineering and construction phases of the Fenix project.
Prior to joining Skye, Hugh played significant leadership roles in several Falconbridge projects, most particularly in the development of the Koniambo ferro-nickel project in New Caledonia and the EPCM implementation of the Collahuasi copper project in Chile. He was also Senior Vice-President and Operations Director of Jaguar Nickel, where he was responsible for the successful initiation and completion of the first phase drilling program for the Sechol nickel resource in Guatemala.
Mr. Duncan holds a B.Sc. in Civil Engineering from the University of Strathclyde, Glasgow.
Andrew J. Grant – Vice President Corporate and Community Relations
Andrew Grant, Vice President Corporate and Community Relations, has worked for the last 12 years internationally with a focus on the mining sector. His areas of expertise are in stakeholder relations, community economic development and partnership building in a consulting capacity and more recently as Country Manager with International Minerals Corporation (IMC) in Ecuador. Andrew’s key responsibilities are to develop and implement community engagement, consultation and communication strategies; build on existing relationships with Skye’s external stakeholders and manage media relations. He holds a Masters in Corporate Social Responsibility, Accounting and Social Auditing from the University of Barcelona, a post-Graduate Diploma in Latin American Management and a Bachelor of Arts in Hispanic Studies and Economics from the University of Victoria.
Rick Killam – Vice President Environment, Health & Safety
Rick Killam, most recently, Vice President Environment for Knight Piesold Ltd., consulting engineers and scientists to the mining industry. Rick has more than 30 years mining industry experience. He was Program Director at International Council on Mining and Metals in London during its start-up period. He was Director, Sustainable Development and Vice President, Environmental Affairs and Safety at Placer Dome Latin America in Santiago, Chile. A professional engineer, he has participated in major mining development projects in Canada, Chile and Papua New Guinea.
Brooke Macdonald – Vice President Legal Affairs
Brooke Macdonald, Vice President Legal Affairs, has more than 15 years of experience in the mining industry, specializing in exploration and mine development joint ventures in Latin America, as legal counsel and as Placer Dome’s country manager in Venezuela. He is knowledgeable in corporate and mining law in North and Latin America, is a member of the New York Bar, and earned his law degree from Queens University in Ontario.
David Neudorf – Vice President Technology and Development
David Neudorf, Vice President Technology and Development, is responsible for process technology development and project development activities including metallurgical plant design and engineering. Prior to joining Skye, he was Global Director Hydrometallurgy for Hatch Ltd., the world’s premier provider of engineering services to the metallurgical industries. He worked for BHP Pty. Ltd. and subsequently for BHP Billiton Ltd. in a number of technology, project and business development roles for 9 years prior to joining Hatch in Oct. 2002. Earlier in his career, he worked for Falconbridge as Superintendent, Extractive Metallurgy and as a research metallurgist for Cominco.
Maria-Luisa Sinclair – Vice President Human Resources
Maria-Luisa Sinclair, Vice President Human Resources, holds a Master Degree of Arts from Royal Roads University in Victoria, British Columbia. She has over 15 years experience in the mining industry and is an experienced human resources professional with broad exposure to organizational development and human resource management in Canada and abroad.Prior to joining Skye Ms. Sinclair was Director, Human Resources for Pan American Silver Corp.and before, she held a series of increasingly senior human resources positions with Placer Dome Inc.
Maria-Luisa has been faculty member of the McRae Institute of International Management at Capilano College, where she taught International Human Resources and Business Management to post-graduate students.
Kristen Riddell, Legal Counsel and Corporate Secretary
Kristen Riddell, Skye's Legal Counsel and Corporate Secretary, brings broad corporate and legal experience. Prior to joining Skye, Kristen was Legal Counsel and Corporate Secretary of Pan American Silver Corp. and Legal Counsel with Placer Dome Inc. from 2001 to 2006, until its takeover by Barrick Gold Corporation. She started her legal career in Vancouver as an associate with the law firm McCullough O'Connor Irwin, practicing corporate and securities law, and has served as Legal Counsel for other Canadian corporations. Kristen was called to the Manitoba Bar in 1998 and to the British Columbia Bar in 1999. She is a member of the Canadian Bar Association and the Society of Corporate Secretaries and Governance Professionals.
