Colin K. Benner (3)

Colin Benner, Vice Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Skye Resources, is a professional mining engineer with over 40 years of experience in mining engineering and management in the Canadian and International mining industry. Currently he is also Chairman of PBS Coals, Inc. a private coal mining company in Pennsylvania. As well, he serves as a director on a number of Boards of other mining companies.

Most recently Mr. Benner held the position of CEO and Vice Chairman of Lundin Mining Corp. Previously he held positions of President and CEO of Breakwater Resources Ltd. and CEO and Vice Chairman of EuroZinc Mining Corp.

Dr. Wm Gordon (Gord) Bacon (2)

Dr. Bacon graduated with a B.A.Sc. in Mineral Processing Engineering and a Ph.D. in Metallurgical Engineering, both from the University of British Columbia. He founded Bacon Donaldson and Associates Ltd., a consulting metallurgical firm providing physical and extractive metallurgical services to resource industries around the world. He was president and senior partner for 21 years. He then joined Sherritt Gordon Mines Ltd. where he became Vice President, Technology, following which he became Vice President of Technology and Engineering at Inco Limited before retiring in 2005. He is a Professional Engineer and a Fellow of the Institute of Mining and Metallurgy in England.

Jean-Sebastien Blanchette

Jean-Sebastien Blanchette is a Senior Analyst at Amber Capital focusing on the energy and mining sectors worldwide. Amber is a New York based fund with a value-based approach. Jean-Sebastien previously worked at Libra Advisors in New York where he was covering commodities and special situations. From 2001 to 2005, he was responsible for following energy, mining and special situations in the Proprietary Group at Natexis Banques Populaires. Jean-Sebastien received his BA from Yale University in 2000.

Robert (Bob) Horn (2), (3)


Bob Horn is a registered professional geoscientist with 38 years experience in exploration and mining in South America, Africa, Australia, Europe, China, Indonesia, Canada and the USA. Prior to joining Inco Limited as Vice President Exploration in 1995 he was Vice-President, Exploration with BP Canada and Vice President Exploration of FMC Gold Company in the USA. He has served on several international committees on geology and mineral resources and was Chairman of the Ontario Geological Survey Advisory Board from 1997 to 2002. He retired from Inco in 2004 and is currently a Director of Yamana Gold Inc. He received the A. O. Dufresne Award in 2004 for services to Canadian mineral exploration.

Terrence Lyons (1), (2)

Terrence Lyons has over 34 years experience in natural resource, manufacturing, real estate, merchant banking and corporate restructuring activities. Before retiring in 2004, he was a Managing Partner of Brookfield Asset Management. He is currently non-executive Chairman of Northgate Minerals Corp. and a director and officer of several other public companies, including Canaccord Capital Inc., Diamonds North Resources Ltd. and Polaris Minerals Corporation. He is past Chairman of the Mining Association of B.C. and a member of the Advisory Board of the Richard Ivey School of Business at the University of Western Ontario.

David McIntyre

David McIntyre is Vice-President, Marketing of CVRD Inco Limited. David also held the position Deputy General Counsel at CVRD Inco. Prior to joining CVRD Inco in 2005, David was a partner at Osler, Hoskin & Harcourt LLP, where he practised mergers and acquisitions, corporate finance, and corporate governance. David was a member of the Securities Advisory Committee to the Ontario Securities Commission 1999-2002. David holds a Bachelor of Commerce Degree Hons. (Queen’s University) and an LL.B. (Osgoode Hall Law School, York University).

Sheila O’Brien (1), (2)

Sheila O’Brien is a Corporate Director and business consultant specializing in workforce and leadership capacity, with over 30 years experience in the oil and gas, pipeline and petrochemical sectors in Canada, South America the USA, and Europe. She has held executive positions in the areas of human resources, investor relations, public affairs and government relations with groups like Amoco International, Petro-Canada and Nova Corporation. She was honoured with a Worldwide Best Practice by Watson Wyatt International Consultancy, and has been active in civil society – principally in the areas of human rights and the rights of women - having served on over 25 Boards of Directors. She was a Special Advisor to The President of the University of Calgary, and in 1998 was recognized for her contributions by the Government of Canada who invested her in The Order of Canada, the country’s highest civilian honour.

Ron S. Simkus (3)

Ron Simkus graduated with a B.A.Sc. in Mining/Mineral Processing Engineering at the University of Toronto. He started with Cominco Ltd. in 1975 at the Sullivan Mine in Kimberley B.C., then Polaris Mine N.W.T., Mount Isa Mines in Queensland Australia, Red Dog Mine in Alaska and eventually Highland Valley Copper Mine in Kamloops B.C. where he held the position of President and General Manager. In 2001 he was appointed President and CEO of Compania Minera Antamina in Peru and most recently was Senior Vice President Mining for Corriente Resources in Ecuador. Ron is an independent mining consultant and is a registered professional engineer in British Columbia, a Fellow of the AusIMM and a Member of the CIM. Ron also holds the position of Director for Gabriel Resources Inc.

David S. Smith (1)

David S. Smith was appointed Chief Financial Officer of Ballard Power Systems in December 2002. In this role, his areas of responsibility include financial policy, external financial reporting, accounting, taxation, treasury, strategic and financial planning, risk management, public and investor relations and information technology. Prior to this appointment, Mr. Smith acted as Ballard's Vice President, Controller from October, 2000. Immediately prior to joining Ballard, he was Vice President, Corporate Relations with Placer Dome Inc. From 1997 to 1999, he was Placer Dome's Vice President, Business Development, and from 1984 to 1997, Mr. Smith held the positions of regional Vice President and Chief Financial Officer with Placer Dome in the United States, Chile, and Canada.
